This program is designed for students who have an interest in fitness and the physical health of variety of people. It allows students to gain the skills and knowledge they will need for a career in the health, fitness and sports performance industry with a focus on developing the health and fitness of people across their whole lifespan, including the elderly, pregnant women, children and those with chronic disease and disability. Students will also have the opportunity to study a diverse range of elective courses, including tourism and events and marketing, giving students the ability to tailor their studies.

Entry Requirements:

Year 12 ; Have achieved a minimum Overall Position (OP) 15, tertiary entrance rank 66 or equivalent qualification; English (4,SA) and Maths A (4,SA) Successful completion of a senior maths subject is recommended, such as Mathematics A (4 SA) or equivalent. Graduate qualifications in any relevant area would be acceptable. All students are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements.

Structure:

24 units: Applied Sport and Exercise major: Eight core courses, eight additional sport and exercise courses and eight electives. Sport and Exercise Science major: This extended major consists of 24 defined courses and no electives.

Study Pathways:

Students may go on to complete the Graduate Certificate of Sport and Exercise upon graduation, if eligible.

Further information:

For all modes there will be on-campus and practical attendance requirements for some courses. In order to successfully complete the program students must be able to fulfil practical attendance requirements of a one week residential school in Year 1, 2 and 3.
