The Certificate of English for University Studies aims to develop students' capacity to manage information, build knowledge and communicate ideas more independently at an advanced level in English in both spoken and written forms, with a specific focus on enhancing academic English language skills to meet the more complex communication demands of tertiary studies in particular professions. English language proficiency is benchmarked at Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) 58 and the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) level C1

Entry Requirements:

To be eligible for admission, applicants must satisfy the following requirements: Completion of senior secondary schooling in the home country or equivalent, or Year 12 in an Australian high school. Normally, to be eligible for enrolment in the program a person will have attained an age of at least 18 years in the year of the proposed enrolment. Students will need to complete the online application form for entry to the program. All students are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements. If students do not meet the English language requirements they may apply to study a University-approved English language program. On successful completion of the English language program, students may be admitted to an award program. Students must be at least 18 years in the year of the proposed enrolment.

Structure:

0.5 year full-time, 1 year part-time. 4 core courses.
