This course is a five year combined degree for those seeking a career in nutrition and dietetics. This program is designed to further knowledge of nutritional science and nutrition as a scientific discipline, and to produce scientists capable of working in and furthering this emerging field. The course will produce individuals who will be able to lead the dietetics profession, and maintain and advance its standards. During the B Science, students will complete units in biochemistry, chemistry, molecular biology and human physiology, which are the necessary prerequisites for accreditation by the Dietitians Association of Australia. A credit grade point average in B Science is necessary for progression into the M Nutrition and Dietetics. The first-year units of study of M Nutrition and Dietetics must be completed before students can undertake the research and professional placements. It is also possible to enrol in B Science (Advanced) or B Science (Advanced Mathematics) in this combined course. To do this, students must achieve an ATAR sufficient for entry to those courses. Interested applicants should submit a direct request to Science following enrolment in the combined degree.
