This practical degree is focused on developing the technical and conceptual skills required to transform ideas into art. Your degree will be underpinned by rigorous contemporary art theory and history studies, which will help you to build research and critical skills. You will be taught by practising artists and benefit from their extensive professional experience and arts industry networks.
Students may complement their major through a wide range of electives in contemporary art at SCA, or through study in other disciplines across the University. You will have access to a studio environment in which to create a body of work. In your final year your work will be exhibited in the Sydney College of the Arts Undergraduate Degree Show.
