AMSA Sara Bool Women in Maritime Engineering Scholarship

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) is Australia’s national agency responsible for maritime safety, protection of the marine environment, and maritime aviation search and rescue. AMSA are motivated by their vision of ’Safe and clean seas, saving lives’. As Australia’s national regulatory body, AMSA promote the safety and protection of the marine environment and combat ship-sourced pollution. AMSA provide the infrastructure for safety of navigation in Australian waters, and maintain a national search and rescue service for the maritime and aviation sectors. This scholarship is intended as a memorial to Sara Bool who was a dedicated AMSA staff member and was a passionate supporter of the maritime community as well as AMSA’s vision and mission.
Eligibility Requirements
Available to a female student (or those who identify as female) who is entering Year 3 of the Bachelor of Maritime Engineering (Specialisation) with Honours in Semester 1, 2026.; Selection will be based on academic merit, and the applicant's aspiration to work in the industry and having career goals, which align with AMSA's vision and mission.; Preference will be for female students undertaking the Naval Architecture stream.; Mentoring by an AMSA employee may be available for the successful applicant.; The opportunity for a work placement with AMSA during their studies may be available for the successful applicant.
