This course provides a unique environment for planners and property developers to develop a mutual understanding of how to balance private and public interests in urban development. It has a strong focus on sustainable urban development. The Graduate Certificate in Property and Planning is a foundation course for students who go on to study the Master of Planning or the Master of Property Development. Both disciplines require close cooperation and this course shows students how to achieve better urban outcomes through closer partnerships between those building cities and those planning them.

Standard entry requirements

  • Applicants must have one of the following: a UTS recognised bachelor's degree, or equivalent, or an advanced diploma in the field of built environment. In addition to the above qualifications, applicants must provide: a personal statement (max. 300 words) clearly articulating property, planning or construction work experience a 2-page CV. The English proficiency requirement for local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0
  • Or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21
  • Or AE5: Pass
  • Or PTE: 58-64
  • Or CAE: 176-184. Eligibility for admission does not guarantee offer of a place.
