The Gordon Young Memorial Scholarship is offered in memory of Gordon Young, the former NSW Director of Physical Education and President of the Australian Council of Health, Physical Education and Recreation. The Scholarship is offered in partnership between the UTS: Business School and UTS: Health to support students wishing to further their studies and their research in the fields of health and fitness at UTS. The scheme is targeted to the following broad areas: Physical Education; Health and Fitness; Recreation; and Sport Administration.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must: be enrolled as a full-time student, about to undertake either an Honours degree, a Master's degree by research or a PhD degree in the specified areas; have completed a relevant undergraduate degree; the recipient is not permitted to hold other UTS Scholarships, unless an equity-based scholarship is approved by exception. Selection process: Applicants proposing Research in keeping with the vision of the late Gordon Young, in the areas of physical recreation, human movement or sport, will be highly regarded.
