New Colombo Plan Scholarships Program

The New Colombo Plan Scholarships Program aims to provide opportunities for the best and brightest university students from Australia to study in the Indo-Pacific. The New Colombo Plan includes options to study in 38 participating countries and territories across the region. Sixty high-calibre Australian university students will have the opportunity to undertake at least one study period, and up to a full academic year of study in one of these destinations. An internship/mentorship component is strongly encouraged.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must: be aged between 18 and 28; be Australian citizen residing in Australia; be enrolled in an on-shore campus of an Australian university at the time of application; be undertaking a Bachelor degree or Bachelor Honours degree upon commencement of the scholarship (completed at least on year of their bachelor degree upon commencement); have achieved a minimum 70 per cent graded average or equivalent for your undergraduate course. Applicants must: demonstrate a well-defined study or research program to UTS and the NCP Secretariat; demonstrate a proposal that is relevant to the needs and interests of Australia and the intended host country; show evidence of the potential to foster ongoing collaboration and cooperation between Australia and Asia; demonstrate the potential to participate at a high level in the academic or wider community on return to Australia; and demonstrate evidence of service to the community; and not be undertaking another Australian Government funded off-shore scholarship or grant upon.
