This degree is designed to give students the flexibility to focus on the areas of science that interest them most. Science is the investigation of the structure and behaviour of natural and physical processes, through systematic discovery and invention to improve our understanding of the universe. The University of the Sunshine Coast's Bachelor of Science program follows the global trend of offering majors and minors in traditional scientific fields, so that upon graduation students will exhibit depth and breadth of scientific knowledge. In first year students will gain a strong foundation in cell biology, chemistry, biodiversity and ecology, science research methods and introductory mathematics. Afterwards they can decide where they want their science degree to take them, choose a major and a minor from a wide range of science areas. In the University of the Sunshine Coast's Bachelor of Science program students will also learn practical scientific skills in fully equipped laboratories and gain hands-on experience during field studies to prepare them for a career in emerging scientific fields. There are excellent opportunities to further studies and undertake rewarding research to make a real difference in the world.

Entry Requirements:

Year 12 or equivalent; Knowledge of Year 12 English, Maths B or C; and at least one of the sciences, preferably Chemistry, is recommended


24 subjects including 1 core subject, at least 6 introductory Science subjects, a major (8 subjects), and a minor (4 subjects) plus 5 electives.
