Bachelor of Secondary Education (Earth and Environmental Science)

Secondary educators play a pivotal role in supporting and inspiring students during a crucial time in their growth. Throughout this four-year degree you will learn how to teach high school students about earth and environmental science, motivating and encouraging them to fully engage in their learning journey. Students study core subjects in general science and earth and environmental science, while also gaining key professional knowledge about how the brain works, psychology and adolescent development, classroom management and relationships, Aboriginal education, inclusion, special education, technology, and pedagogy (that is, what to teach and how to teach it). This major makes up your core teaching area in the Bachelor of Secondary Education. There is also an opportunity for you to pursue a second teaching area specialisation (also called a minor). Options include another science-focused area, mathematics, geography and Aboriginal studies.
