Structure

The Bachelor of Creative Arts - Bachelor of Laws requires the successful completion of 240 credit points as specified below:All compulsory Law subjects for the Bachelor of Laws (114 credit points);30 credit points of electives from the Bachelor of Laws - Law Elective Schedule.The core subjects for the Bachelor of Creative Arts (24 credit points);One of the majors listed for the Bachelor of Creative Arts (minimum 72, maximum 96 credit points);If required elective subjects to bring the total number of credit points completed to 240;Students must achieve a clear pass in the core 300-level subjects to be eligible to graduate with a Bachelor of Creative Arts.

Standard entry requirements

Successful completion of a qualification equivalent to the completion of 13 years of schooling in Australia.

Recognition

By completing your law degree at UOW, you are completing an academic qualification that is recognised for admission as a lawyer in Australia, subject to completing state-approved Practical Legal Training (PLT). Study pathways

If applicants can demonstrate they have met the learning outcomes for UOW subjects through prior learning, such as previous tertiary or TAFE qualifications, they may be eligible for credit towards their degree. A student wishing to practise as a barrister or solicitor must undertake some form of professional practical training, the requirements for which vary between each State and Territory. In NSW a fee-paying legal training course accredited by the Legal Practitioners Board, followed by or incorporating a period of practical experience in a law-related office or setting is required.
