Radiography is the science involving the controlled use of radiation for the production of internal images of an object.Diagnostic Medical Imaging is the science involving the controlled use of radiation for the production of images to assist in the diagnosis and subsequent management of disease and injury.Industrial radiography uses ionizing radiation to inspect materials and components to locate and quantify objects, defects and degradation in material properties that could lead to the failure of engineering structures.The Graduate Certificate in Radiography is designed for graduates holding a bachelor degree in either health, medicine, science or engineering, who would like to develop basic knowledge in medical or industrial radiation imaging. Previous completion of some university level physics mathematics is an advantage.

Structure

To qualify for award of the degree of Graduate Certificate in Radiology, complete 24 credit points and satisfy all course requirements outlined in the structure below.a) 18 credit points of core.b) 6 credit points of optional core, either MEDI100, PHYS966 or PHYS960 (depending on student's academic background).

Standard entry requirements

A recognised Bachelor degree in health, medicine, science or engineering that includes university mathematics to at least first year level. Some university physics knowledge would be an advantage.
