The Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing is a focused, clinically based course designed for a practitioner commencing the specialty of mental health nursing. It combines theoretical aspects of mental health to develop and refine clinical skills and interventions. This course will assist registered nurses in their application to be a credentialed Mental Health Nurse by the Australian College of Mental Health Nursing (ACMHN).

Standard entry requirements
A Bachelor degree in Nursing of at least three years' duration from a recognised tertiary institution, or a qualification to practise as a Registered Nurse or equivalent.
Study pathways
Students who have successfully completed the Graduate Certificate in Mental Health Nursing may be granted 24 credit points of specified advanced standing into the Graduate Diploma of Mental Health Nursing. Students who have successfully completed the Graduate Diploma of Mental Health Nursing have the option of articulating, prior to graduation, into the Masters of Mental Health Nursing. If graduation has occurred, a further 48 credit points are required to complete the Master degree.
