Mining Engineers study the safe, economic and environmentally responsible recovery, processing, marketing and financial management of mineral resources. Put simply, Mining Engineering is about the extraction of natural minerals from the Earth and the processing of those minerals with minimal environmental impact. However, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of complex mining systems and a solid foundation of fundamental engineering principles and elements of mining such as geomechanics and ventilation.
Structure
Students must complete Industrial Training and four (24 UOC) courses per semester.
