This dual degree offers the opportunity for students to develop their academic and professional skills in performance, composition and musicology as well as the opportunity to complete an Engineering degree.

Structure

  • 312 units of credit, including core courses in musicology, musicianship, and performance lab
  • choice of specialist music stream - music creative practice, musicology, music pedagogy or sonic arts
  • extensive training in ensemble skills and professional practices
  • For the Engineering degree, students must complete an engineering discipline, 60 days of Industrial Training as well as an honours year.

Standard entry requirements

  • Year 12 or equivalent
  • Audition/ Musicianship Test
  • Assumed knowledge: Applicants are expected to have reached the level of at least Grade 7 AMEB Performance (or equivalent) and Music 2, or Grade 6 AMEB Musicianship (or equivalent), or HSC Music Extension
  • Mathematics Extension 1 and Physics.
