The Master of Design is an interdisciplinary industry-engaged program that integrates technology, design thinking, conceptual exploration, strategy and communication with practical skills to focus on the role of design in innovation and the global economy. The degree is focused around integrated and multidisciplinary studios that underpin the development of professional skills, capabilities and confidence needed for leadership roles and to dynamically support innovation in freelance, media, technology, and business contexts.

  • The Master of Deign is made up of 96 units of credit, including 30 units of credit in Core Design Studio, 30 units of credit in Design in Context
  • and 36 units of credit in Studio Specialisations.

Standard entry requirements

Entry into different stages of this degree depends upon currently held Degrees and Prior Learning. Enter into Session 1 if students have a Pass degree, or no degree but Prior Learning. Enter into Session 2 if students have a related Pass degree, or Graduate Certificate. Enter into Session 3 if students have a related Honours degree, cognate Pass degree plus Prior Learning, or Graduate Diploma.

Study pathways

Credit transfer may be considered for students who have completed qualifications at an equivalent level.
