This program has been designed to be a comprehensive, challenging and contemporary program, based on a set of Information Systems (IS) executive core competencies established through extensive IS skills from the United States and the European Union. The program is recognised by the Australian Computer Society at the Professional level, and prepares graduates for professional practice in the information and communications technology (ICT) industry.

Structure
- Depending on the entry path, either: (I) a 1 year full-time program consisting of 8 courses (48 UOC): 4 Core 2 courses, 2 elective courses plus 1 capstone course
- or (II) a 1.5 years full-time program consisting of 12 courses (72 uoc): 4 Core 1 courses, 4 Core 2 courses, 2 elective courses, plus 1 capstone course.

Standard entry requirements
- For entry into the 1 year program (with credits): A recognised Honours degree (with a research thesis) in information systems, information technology or computer science, with a Second Upper Class (2.1) (usually 75%) or better
- OR A recognised bachelor degree (or equivalent qualification) in information systems, information technology or computer science with a credit average (65% or higher) as determined by the UNSW Postgraduate Coursework Entry Calculator
- And at least 2 years full-time relevant work experience. For entry into the 1.5 year program (without credits): A recognised bachelor degree (or equivalent qualification) with a credit average (65% or higher) as determined by the UNSW Postgraduate Coursework Entry Calculator
- And at least 1 year full-time relevant work experience.
