This program is suitable for those students who do not meet the direct entry requirements for a UTS IT degree. Graduates will be able to fast track into the second year of UTS. The program provides a pathway to the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology at UTS and provides students with knowledge of the core Information Technology disciplines of Computing Science and Information Systems. Graduates will have the necessary technical skills to be able to analyse system problems and identify solutions, construct basic networks and write object- oriented code. They will also be able to communicate effectively using written, verbal and visual techniques, and to operate professionally and ethically in an information technology and business environment.

Study pathways

Students who complete the Diploma of Information Technology will receive 48 credit points (1 year advanced standing) towards a Bachelor of Science in IT; or a Bachelor of Business/ Bachelor of Science in IT or a Bachelor of Science in IT/ Diploma in Information Technology Practice.
