This program produces career-ready graduates by providing students with both technical and professional competencies, and highly valued generic skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, teamwork/collaboration and effective communication. Students have the flexibility to build on the core commercial skills developed in first year, by choosing a major in second year that will prepare for a career in either Applied Finance or International Business. In the final year, students will complete two business capstone units which give the opportunity to take part in a multidisciplinary group project or a research challenge competition. Students are also encouraged to complete a minor to expand knowledge and enhance employability. In this course students may select an overseas study tour, industry placement, and take part in a mentoring program. There are extensive opportunities to engage in workplace-based projects and authentic case-based scenarios.

  • To attain the award of Bachelor of Commerce, students will be required to complete 288 credit points consisting of: 96 credit points of First year Core units
  • 48 credit points of Core units
  • 96 credit points of Major studies in either Applied Finance or International Business
  • and, 48 credit points of Minor studies.

Applicants with a diploma in the field of business or finance (minimum 75% of GPA score or equivalent) will have advanced standing equivalent to four units of study (48 credit points). Bachelor of Business students who successfully complete the first year of their degree with minimum 75% of GPA score or equivalent will have advanced standing equivalent to four units of study (48 credit points).
