The course is designed especially for people with a strong interest and aptitude for computer science who are seeking a career involving research and development at the cutting edge of technology. It is a challenging program that includes advanced coursework, extension activities and research training. A mentoring program links students with experienced academic staff and research groups within the University, allowing students to take part in the University's research activities.

Structure

  • 240 credit points. Students must maintain a grade point average of above 5 to remain in the course
  • those who do not maintain this average will be transferred to the B Computer Science. At enrolment students will be required to sign a declaration acknowledging the requirement to maintain a >5 GPA.

  • Artificial intelligence, cloud and database technology, computer graphics, computer organisation and architecture, concurrent and distributed systems, cyber security, deep learning, information and network security, machine learning, networked systems, operating systems, systems programming.

  • Year 12 or equivalent
  • Mathematics and any 2 units of English.
