This Graduate Diploma in Child and Family Health (Karitane) aims to provide Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives with theoretical knowledge and associated skills that prepare them to work autonomously and across a variety of clinical settings with children and families. Graduates will be able to apply advanced nursing practice, concepts and analysis and lead nursing practice to promote optimal health outcomes for children and families. Students who successfully complete this course may transfer into the Master of Child and Family Health (Karitane).

Standard entry requirements
Registered Nurse or Midwife (currently registered to practice with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency - Nursing and Midwifery) and Bachelor degree (AQF Level 7 or equivalent), in any discipline and 1 year FTE work experience as a registered nurse or registered midwife within the last five years.

Students enrolled in the course who have not completed Family Partnership Training through their employer will be required to complete the five day Family Partnership Training workshop on campus as part of their studies for the Partnership in Practice unit.
