The 2018 edition of The Good Universities Guide reveals that ANU's academic staff are the most qualified in the country. 95 per cent of ANU's staff are Masters or PhD qualified — the highest proportion in the country. Monash is the closest Group of Eight university to ANU where 91 per cent of staff are Masters or PhD qualified. At University of Western Australia and the University of Sydney, 82 per cent of staff hold Masters or PhD qualifications.

Key insights:

100 per cent of ANU's medicine graduates find full-time employment within three months of graduating.

ANU's overall Full-Time Employment rate is slightly higher than the national average, (70 per cent vs 69.5 per cent), and higher than Group of Eight rivals UWA (64.9 per cent), Melbourne (63.6 per cent) and Adelaide (62.5 per cent).

ANU's graduates earn more than the national average — $58,800 vs $56,000.

ANU also achieved above or at the national average in the student experience measures of Teaching Quality and Overall Experience.

Five-star field of study highlights

ANU's strongest measure was Full-Time Employment. They achieved five stars in four fields of study — computing and information systems, medicine, psychology, and science and mathematics. Overall, ANU reached the top 20 per cent in 10 measures, across seven fields of study.
