The 2008 edition of The Good Universities Guide reveals that ECU achieves five stars in seven out of eight institution level ratings, with only private Notre Dame University achieving as many for Western Australian universities.

Five-star field of study highlights
Edith Cowan University achieved five-star results in at least one measure across 15 different fields of study. Their strongest field was humanities, culture and social sciences where they hit the top 20 percent in five of the six student experience measures and both of the graduate destination measures. Overall, ECU was strongest in Teaching Quality, with their graduates ranking them highly across 12 different fields of study.
