The 2018 edition of The Good Universities Guide reveals University of Wollongong achieved five stars for Staff Qualifications and Student Retention. At the institution level ratings, they took a clean five-star sweep of the student experience measures —Overall Experience, Skills Development, Student Support, Teaching Quality, Learning Resources and Learner Engagement. Wollongong and private university Bond were the only institutions to achieve these results.
Key insights:
Wollongong were top in the country for Student Support in the social work field of study, while in creative arts, they led the nation in Skills Development.
They were also one of several universities at the top for Full-Time Employment in the medicine field of study.
Five-star field of study highlights
Graduates from the University of Wollongong rated the Learning Resources in 13 different fields of study at the five-star level. UOW also performed strongly in the measures of Student Support and Skills Development, achieving five stars each across eight different fields of study. Wollongong was strongest in science and mathematics, reaching five stars in seven of the eight measures.
