This program equips graduates with advanced technical proficiencies in the core knowledge of IT technologies. By integrating knowledge and skills, the curriculum endows students with the tools and methodologies needed to analyse, detect, and effectively address challenges in the dynamic ICT and internet landscape. The program is structured in alignment with the comprehensive ACS Core Body of Knowledge (ACS-CBOK), together with other industry alignments such as the ACM-IEEE Computing Curricula. At its core, the program integrates foundational subjects in information technology, such as software development, systems analysis design, database management systems, ethical and professional practice in IT, data science and cyber security. This foundation is further enriched by the core advance subjects such as cloud computing, IT project management, web application, business intelligence and various elective subjects covering topics from a broad range such as enterprise architecture, IS strategy and governance, and offering a deeper view into data science and cyber security with subjects such as penetration testing, data analytics, machine learning and optimisation, or information assurance and risk management. The pedagogy of the Master of Information Technology seamlessly blends practical insights from industry experts with a rigorous academic framework, establishing a robust understanding of general information technology. The salient feature of this course is the inclusion of a Capstone Project subject, focused on tackling a contemporary issue and challenges pertaining to IT. Here, students apply and integrate their knowledge to propose recommendations or solutions. Graduates of the Bachelor of Business (Information Systems) will demonstrate knowledge and skills to solve problems and exploit opportunities in diverse business contexts through applications of technology-based systems. The program provides an initial foundation year of key business disciplines such as Accounting, Marketing, Business Law and Management whilst latter years provide students with knowledge and skills in the major areas of business information systems.
