Diploma of Architectural Technology
. The Diploma of Architectural Technology is a one year course that develops the knowledge, skills, and attitudes pertinent to the discipline and profession of architectural drafting and documentation. With a particular focus on sustainability and passive design in the diverse climatic environments of the Northern Territory and the Asia-Pacific, you will learn how to communicate thoughtful, climate-responsive design solutions that meet the expectations of the client brief. Students also learn the practical skills of computer aided drawing for the preparation of architectural design drawings, documentation drawings and design detailing as well as how design firms operate, what professional standards are, and the processes of contracting, procurement, and project delivery.

Structure
The Diploma of Architectural Technology provides students with a solid foundation in essential architectural principles and practices. This program contains core studies in building technology, environmental design, architectural history, and architectural documentation. The first half of the course provides an introduction to core knowledge and skills in architectural technology. Students will develop essential skills in architectural communication, 3D modeling, and technical documentation. The second half of the course provides opportunities to further develop technical expertise in building technology and environmental design. Students may choose from a range of specialist elective units to tailor their studies to specific areas of interest.
Entry requirements
- Admission requirements are met by one of the following:
- Successful completion of the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (or equivalent) and the awarding of an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) of at least 60.
- Successful completion of a national qualification at Certificate III level or higher.
- Successful completion of at least 0. 5 year of full-time study (or equivalent) of a higher education degree/diploma.
- Overseas secondary or tertiary qualifications considered equivalent to the above Australian qualifications.
- Attainment of a STAT Multiple Choice score of 140.
- Successful completion of the Tertiary Enabling Program, the Preparation for Tertiary Success courses, or other recognized tertiary preparation course.
- Submission of an acceptable personal competencies statement and/or employment experience.
- Defence members with service of 1 year or more at the following ranks (or higher) meet the academic entry requirement for this course:
- Navy: Seaman, Able Seaman, Leading Seaman.
- Air Force: Aircraftmen/Aircraftwoman, Leading Aircraftman/Aircraftwoman, Corporal.
- Army: Private, Lance Corporal, Corporal.
- Current School Leaver Pathways:
- Best of 3 Year 12 subject grades, School recommendation program.
- After any applicable adjustment factors have been applied.
