This professional degree provides students with the opportunity to develop broad accounting knowledge and competencies to facilitate careers in commercial business-related fields. This degree has a particular focus on application of accounting knowledge, competencies and capabilities to diverse and global commercial business/organisational contexts. Students will apply their accounting knowledge and competencies to a broad range of commercial business/organisational practices including systems and processes, planning, production, operations and the use of current and emerging data and analytical practices.
Structure
The first year includes the core topics of Accounting Principles, Quantitative Methods, Law for Business, Economics for Business, and Management, People and Organisations. Across all years, students complete a specialisation in accounting, and in final year, students complete the capstone topic Governance, Sustainability and Ethics.
