The Bachelor of Health Science (Vision Science), Master of Optometry requires 5 years of full-time study (or up to 8 years part-time). The double degree course is offered by the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
Structure
Students are required to pass all topics of the Bachelor component of the double degree and achieve a minimum grade point average (GPA) of no less than 5 in the 2nd and 3rd year topics completed, will be permitted to progress to the Master of Optometry. A large proportion of the Masters is spent in clinical placements in optometry clinics at Flinders University and in metropolitan or regional and remote areas. During the final years of the double degree, students are expected to complete over 500 eye examinations during the Master of Optometry. This clinical experience is spread across many environments including city, country, international, speciality, indigenous and hospital practice.

Standard entry requirements
