The Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Medical) provides a pathway into the graduate entry Doctor of Medicine offered by the University of Melbourne in Shepparton for regional and rural students intending to practice medicine in a regional or rural location. In this pre-medicine course, you'll combine the fields of biology, pharmacology and medicine. You will learn about the human body, its structure and its functions. Entry requirements

  • Recent secondary education - VTAC prerequisite: Year 12 English prerequisite (25) - Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL.
  • Recent secondary education - UAC prerequisite: Year 12 English prerequisite (Band 3) - equivalent to VCE 25 - One of English Standard, English Advanced (Band 3), English as an Additional Language or Dialect (Band 4).
  • Non Year 12 - Higher Education study: HE prerequisites - Course specific requirements - Prerequisite Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
  • Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
  • A minimum unadjusted prerequisite ATAR of 80.00 or GPA 5.11+ in a degree award qualification based on a minimum of 1.00 equivalent full time study load (EFTSL), whichever is higher.
  • Previous secondary and Higher Education studies must have been undertaken within the last 10 years.
