Doctor of Education (Professional Doctorate)

The Doctor of Education emphasises the contribution of original research to professional practice and builds on a combination of coursework and thesis. It includes four 15-credit point research training subjects and a supervised research project culminating in a thesis of approximately 60,000 words, which is assessed by external examiners. The project will be in an applied area, allowing you to make an intensive investigation in your own professional field. Once you have identified a potential supervisor, you'll need to get in touch with them to see if they are available and if they would be a good fit for your research project before you apply. The qualification awarded on graduation is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as Level 10 - Professional Doctorate.
