The Standard Foundation program is suitable for students who have completed at least a Year 11 equivalent education and require additional academic support and upgraded English language skills to reach university entry level in Australia. Successful completion of the program allows students into the first year of a Macquarie University degree provided they meet the entry requirements.
Minimum of 24 credit points and completion of specific required units. Students choose one stream from three options - Arts stream, Business and Commerce stream, and Science and Engineering stream. The course and stream prepares students for entry into a Macquarie bachelor degree in their chosen field. Teaching and learning activities focus on assisting students to acquire academic knowledge and the study skills needed to succeed in higher education in Australia. English language skills are integrated into all units to assist students increase their confidence and competence.

Standard entry requirements
At least 17 years of age, Year 11 equivalent qualification (conditions apply, see academic requirements for further information)
Students who complete the Intensive Foundation Program, achieve the relevant grade point average, and meet all entry requirements can articulate into the first year of a selected Macquarie University degree.
