Oceania Polytechnic Institute of Education (OPIE), established in 1988, is a Registered Training Organisation offering courses in the fields of art, the built environment, architecture and design. Entry requirements for Oceania Polytechnic Institute of Education
For Certificate IV: Year 11 or equivalent. For Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas: Year 12 or equivalent. All applicants attend an interview (or submit a Curriculum Vitae and personal essay). Students already studying in Australia are required to apply through VTAC. Direct applications to OPIE may be made outside VTAC application dates. Overseas students are required to provide evidence of English proficiency. Mature age applicants, or applicants without the above qualifications, may be eligible for enrolment under RPL.
Transfering your previous study credits
Specific courses allow credit transfer to and from similar courses. Students who complete units from these courses are eligible for credit transfer to other courses containing these units. Credit transfer at OPIE is administered through the process of RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning), which also allows for recognition of industry experience.
