This program allows students to examine innovative ways to promote healthy lifestyle choices and prevent diet-related disease through use of communication. Health professionals with superior communication skills and ability to use the power of media technologies will make significant contributions to improving the quality of life, both locally and internationally. After introductory studies in human anatomy, health science, and communication, students will complete units that explore health education and behaviour, exercise and sports nutrition, and all facets of media including social platforms, mythbusting, and globalisation. During final year, students can complete a professional placement in industry or complete a project that will refine their skills in development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

Graduates are eligible for membership of the Public Health Association of Australia (PHAA) and the Nutrition Society.

Pathways to the Master of Teaching (Secondary) or Master of Philosophy are available. Students may be able to claim advanced standing for part of their course, on the basis of completed or partially completed studies, and other assessable learning outcomes.
