This film course for the digital age provides flexibility and a broad range of practical industry skills whilst developing students' skills in producing, writing, editing, sound, cinematography or directing. The need for quality content for subscription TV, mobile devices, the Internet, promotional campaigns, film festivals and events is leading to lucrative opportunities for multi-skilled professionals to generate highly creative, captivating productions. Students learn skills used in audio-visual media, gain business and leadership skills, and knowledge of how the entertainment industry works. Students have opportunities to work in a range of genres including documentary, drama, television and experimental film, and are encouraged to consider formats that include film, television, digital and mobile platforms. Students gain experience in their specialisation by working with other students to produce creative works for external clients and may have their works showcased to the industry at public screenings in their final year.

- Assumed knowledge: English, or Literature, or English and Literature, or English as an Additional Language (Units 3 & 4, C).
This course can be followed with a graduate-entry teacher education course, which enables students to become qualified teachers. Pathways to the Master of Philosophy are also available. Students may be able to claim advanced standing for part of their course, on the basis of completed or partially completed studies, and other assessable learning outcomes.
