This course takes students' careers to the next level by providing them with skills and knowledge across areas such as social media storytelling, data analytics for communication, artificial intelligence, data visualisation and digital communication research. They will learn how to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and stakeholders in a media environment that is undergoing a profound process of disruptive transformation. The course is organised with an emphasis on authentic real-world learning that prepares students to creatively and effectively address a range of global and international challenging communication scenarios. It is offered with delivery modes designed to fit busy lifestyles with units delivered through an intensive delivery mode, offering the balance of short, sharp delivery while allowing flexibility to balance work, family, study and personal needs. This approach, including pre-work, interactive workshops and webinars, and further self-guided learning, allows students to learn at their own pace.
Structure
192 credit points comprising core units (120 credit points) and either the project pathway (1 project unit and 4 electives) or the advanced project pathway (2 project units and 2 electives).

Standard entry requirements
- Two year program: A completed recognised bachelor degree (or higher award) in any field. One and a half year program - Project pathway: A completed recognised bachelor degree in: advertising, animation, communication, interaction design, journalism, marketing, media, or public relations
- Or any other field plus at least 6 months full-time (or equivalent) professional work experience in advertising, animation, communication, interaction design, journalism, marketing, media, or public relations.
Study pathways
Students are eligible to receive advanced standing from the Graduate Certificate in Digital Communication or Graduate Diploma in Digital Communication. With appropriate unit selection, students will be able to exit early with the Graduate Certificate in Digital Communication or Graduate Diploma in Digital Communication. Pathways to doctoral research are available.
