Structure
Delivered both on campus and online, the Professional Doctorate (Applied Research) comprises 11 core subjects, five thesis units, and eight electives, requiring 10 hours of study per week. Assessments may include activity-based assignments or online quizzes. There are no formal exams.
Entry requirements
- Applicants with formal study: Direct Entry A person may be considered for direct entry admission to study for the degree of Professional Doctorate (Applied Research) if they have: Completed qualification at AQF Level 8 Higher Education (Graduate Diploma or above from an Australian University or an equivalent overseas higher education qualification AND Seven years’ practice at an advanced level in a position of responsibility or five years practice at an executive level and currently in a position of influence in the chosen profession, OR An extensive track record of executive achievement in the workplace or in professional practice. Applicants must also - Demonstrate all passing grades or Credit GPA minimum on transcripts - Evidence disciplinary alignment to Torrens Research areas (health/ business, design, technology/engineering education) - Have completed their most recent qualification within the last 10 years
