The Bachelor of Business, Government and Policy (Honours) course is designed to provide students with a one year stand alone Honours experience. Students will build on the policy knowledge and research capabilities they have gained in their undergraduate degree, and prepare for entry into high-level careers in areas such as business, government, public policy, social policy, government, and academia. During this one-year course, students will study specific topics including business and government relations, critical thinking, policy studies, human rights and justice. Students will gain an insight into a variety of research approaches, as well as completing a research project in the form of an Honours research thesis. Across the study period students will have access to professional mentors who will assist them in the preparation of the research thesis. Students will develop valuable professional and research skills, such as problem solving, critical thinking and reading, listening and reviewing, which will be applicable to their chosen future industry, and will be encouraged to tailor the course content to their own specific areas of interest. Upon graduation, students will be well-placed to either apply into graduate programs in a range of policy specialisations and/or continue down a higher degree career path via further masters or PhD study, or be ready to enter a range of different sectors where a strong background in research is highly sought after.
