Structure

The Bachelor of Business/Bachelor of Laws (Honours) is undertaken over five years of full-time study. The combined degree program requires successful completion of 400 units, which is comprised of: 220 units core courses, 10 units career-ready placement, 10 units business course list, 80 units law course list, one 80 unit business major.

Entry requirements

  • Year 12 or equivalent
  • for the Bachelor of Business: assumed knowledge of Mathematics
  • no assumed knowledge for Law
  • selection is via academic merit onlyThere are a number of ways to gain entry to the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) program at the University of Newcastle. Students may be considered for admission on the basis of:NSW HSC or equivalent - irrespective of age of qualification
  • Completed or partly completed higher education studies
  • TAFE qualifications
  • Overseas qualifications equivalent to Australian studies (International)

Study Pathways

Credit may be available to students who have studied a VET course or who have studied through another Higher Education Institution. Honours in the Bachelor of Business is available as an additional year to students who achieve a credit grade point average.
