Structure

Students complete 320 units of courses (typically 80 units per year for four years). The program includes a substantial clinical practicum commencing in the 1st year of study, which provides students with the full range of clinical experience required by the Speech Pathology Association of Australia. Clinical placements are arranged in the Hunter area, Central Coast, Sydney and rural areas. Interstate and International clinical placements may also be available.

Entry requirements

  • Year 12
  • selection based on ATAR or equivalent
  • A background in Maths will be helpful for the Psychology component of the course
  • Students with knowledge in Biology and Chemistry will find these areas helpful for the study of Human Biosciences and Neuroscience

The program is accredited by Speech pathology association of Australia and mutually recognised by the professional association of speech pathologists in New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. The program is also recognised by the Ministry of Health, Singapore. All graduates are eligible for membership to Speech Pathology Australia.
