Entry to this double degree is competitive. It offers an accelerated pathway from undergraduate to honours to postgraduate study in architecture, leading to professional accreditation or articulation into a Design PhD. Studies are based on the principles of critical thinking about design and the built environment. There is an emphasis on professionally relevant research. In addition to the studios and practical experience provided by Bachelor of Design in Architecture, theory and design-based practice is further developed through units of study exclusive to the double degree program. Students will be taught by leading researchers and industry professionals and benefit from their experience and professional networks. An academic mentorship is integral to the Honours component.

Assumed knowledge: Mathematics, English (Advanced).
This double degree fasttracks the process of qualifying for professional registration (provided progression rules for the degree are met) with the NSW Architects Registration Board, the Australian Institute of Architects and the Commonwealth Association of Architects. This degree has international recognition.
