There is an increasing demand for highly trained individuals to lead and work in the sport, physical activity and recreation fields who have skills equal with, but not specific to, teacher education. Over the previous five years through both Federal and State Government initiatives (i.e., Active After Schools) and through providers of activity-based health interventions (i.e., personal trainers, fitness leaders, wilderness leaders) there is an increasing industry demand for highly trained individuals.
