Mechatronic Engineering combines the skills and knowledge of mechanical, electrical and computer science engineers to develop autonomous systems such as the smart machines and self operating robots originally envisioned in Sci-Fi movies. Mechatronic components are increasingly being used in the mining, agriculture and manufacturing industries and you may one day be responsible for the self-driving cars of the future!

Structure

Students must complete 60 days of Industrial Training and 168 Units of Credit.

  • Computing, Control Systems, Electronics, Mechanical Design Skills, Microprocessors.

Standard entry requirements

  • Year 12 or equivalent
  • Assumed knowledge: Mathematics Extension 1 and Physics.

Mechatronic Engineers work in one of the many industries where automation is in demand, such as manufacturing, automotive mining, cargo handling and agriculture.
