This program is ideal for students who have results below direct entry requirements for the UTS Bachelor of Arts in Communication degree. They can study the program and gain 48 credit points (1 year advanced standing) towards their chosen Communication degree at UTS. In the program there are two streams: Public Relations and Digital and Social Media. Students take the same core subjects in both streams but do two different subjects depending on the chosen stream. Students who successfully complete the Diploma will be equipped with the practical and analytical skills and knowledge to be able to conduct research and interviews and present their findings orally or in writing, photography and video and in various online forms using digital media.

Study pathways
Diploma of Communication students will receive 48 credit points (usually 1 year) worth of advanced standing into the UTS Bachelor of Arts in Communication. For students who major in Public Relations or Digital and Social Media at UTS they can fast track into the 2nd year of studies. On completion of the Diploma of Communication students can articulate into the UTS Bachelor of Arts in Communication majoring in Public Communication, Digital and Social Media, Journalism, Media Arts and Production, Information and Media, Social and Political Science, Creative Writing.
