Duties & Tasks
Industrial textiles fabricators may perform the following tasks:consult with customers to establish design specificationsproduce patterns according to the specifications of technical drawings and designsselect, measure and mark out materialcut material to shape with shears or power cuttersset up and maintain industrial sewing machinessew pieces of fabric together by hand or using light or industrial sewing machineshem articles, inserting rope if required, and attach eyelets, grommets, zippers, buckles, straps and other fastenersattach ropes to products using hand toolstreat material for water and rot proofingoperate high frequency and hot air welding equipment if handling PVC materialmake and repair sails for yachts from canvas and synthetic materials.
