Structure
To qualify for the award of Bachelor of Education, students must complete 480 credit points of study in total, consisting of: 120 core credit points 360 credit points in a selected Major To be eligible to graduate students must complete supervised teaching practicum (at least 80 days) as indicated in the course structure. All applicants completing an initial teacher education course must sit and pass the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Teachers (LANTITE) prior to completing their course and before graduating.

Entry requirements
- Recent secondary education - VTAC prerequisite: Year 12 English prerequisite (25) - Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL.
- Recent secondary education - VTAC prerequisite: Year 12 subject prerequisite - Other - Units 1 and 2: satisfactory completion in one of Maths: General Mathematics, Maths: Mathematical Methods or Maths: Specialist Mathematics or Units 3 and 4: any Mathematics
- Recent secondary education - UAC prerequisite: Year 12 subject prerequisite - Other - Any 2 units of Mathematics.
- Recent secondary education - UAC prerequisite: Year 12 subject prerequisite - Other - One of English Standard, English Advanced (Band 3), English as an Additional Language or Dialect (Band 4).
- Non Year 12 - Vocational Education & Training: VET prerequisites - Course specific requirements - Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
- Non Year 12 - Higher Education study: HE prerequisites - Course specific requirements - Subject proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency equivalent to stated Year 12 prerequisites.
- International: IELTS - Course specific - 7.0 IELTS (Academic) with no individual band less than 7.0 and a score of no less than 7.5 in Speaking and Listening.
