This program was established by the Biostatistics Collaboration of Australia to meet the increasing demand for well-trained biostatisticians. It provides advanced biostatistical training for a diverse range of students, and offers a sound mathematically based grounding in statistical methods with a strong emphasis on applications in all areas of health and medical research. It will advance graduates' careers in disciplines such as public health, epidemiology, clinical trials and population genetics.

Study pathways

The PGCert in Biostatistics and PGDip in Biostatistics are designed for students who wish to gain knowledge of Biostatistics, but do not wish to undertake the full Master program. Students in these programs take fewer units than students in Master of Biostatistics, although the units are the same. Appropriate performance in the Postgraduate Certificate in Biostatistics and Postgraduate Diploma in Biostatistics can be counted for credit towards one third and two thirds respectively of the Master of Biostatistics.
