Indigenous Commonwealth Education Costs Scholarship (ICECS)

The Commonwealth Education Costs Scholarships (CECS) are available to Indigenous students to assist with the high costs of undertaking higher education. While the CECS have been replaced by the Student Start-Up Scholarships (administered by Centrelink), they will continue to be offered to Indigenous students in their existing form.
Eligibility
Applicants must: be Indigenous Australian citizens of low socio-economic status; be commencing or undertaking an undergraduate program or a graduate diploma as a full-time Commonwealth supported students; not have previously completed a bachelor degree or equivalent (except where it is an entry requirement for the current course); and be in receipt of a Commonwealth income support payment or demonstrate financial hardship. Tenure is dependent on satisfactory progress.
Amount | $3,000 The scholarship is valued at $3,000 per year (2018 rate) for up to 4 years. |
