The Bachelor of Business (Event Management) covers every aspect of planning and running major events. Choose from electives to tailor your event management degree to your specific career goals. You’ll gain key skills in commercial event operations and management, event staging and production, and event marketing. This course will help you learn how to become an event planner. You’ll learn how to come up with creative themes and formats, and manage clients to ensure their expectations for an event are met. You’ll gain a thorough understanding of the legal, marketing, financial and strategic concepts in event management. You will also gain practical industry skills in project, strategic and event management and have the option to specialise in hospitality, tourism, marketing, public relations and advertising.

Structure

Delivered both on campus and online, the Bachelor of Business (Event Management) comprises 20 core and 4 electives, each subject requiring 10 hours of study per week (made up of classes and self-directed study). Assessments may include activity-based assignments or online quizzes. There are no formal exams.

Entry requirements

  • Australian secondary school certificate, or equivalent OR Successful completion of a Vocational qualification (AQF Level 4), or above OR Successful completion of at least 0.25 EFTSL at AQF level 6, 0.5 EFTSL at AQF level 5 or above, or equivalent OR Work-life experience demonstrating the ability to undertake study at the required level which may include approval of prior study or successful completion of a readiness assessment.
