Diploma of Business (International Hotel Management)
A Diploma of International Hotel Management gives you the foundation for a career in the global accommodation industry. You’ll combine classroom learning with applied training and gain hands-on experience with leading hospitality organisations. Across eight core subjects, you’ll explore hospitality operations, food and beverage, accommodation and guest experience. Delivered at our Leura (Blue Mountains) and Surry Hills campuses, with your first trimester (12 weeks) completed at Leura, and the remainder of your studies at Surry Hills, the diploma equips you with the skills to step into entry-level roles or continue to further study in Hotel Management. You’ll also complete 360 hours of paid industry placement, giving you valuable workplace experience.

Structure
Delivered on campus, the Diploma of Business (International Hotel Management) comprises eight core subjects, including two industry placements subjects. Each subject requires 10 hours of study per week (made up of classes and self-directed study). As part of these, students complete 360 hours of industry placement through core subjects IND102BM and IND103BM. Assessments may include essays, reports, presentations, case studies, reflective journals and applied training, with no formal exams.
Entry requirements
- Australian secondary school certificate, or equivalent OR Successful completion of a Vocational qualification (AQF Level 4), or above OR Successful completion of at least 0.25 EFTSL at AQF level 6, 0.5 EFTSL at AQF level 5 or above, or equivalent OR A minimum of successful completion of Year 10 or equivalent (e.g. Certificate 3) AND a minimum of 2 years of full-time relevant, cognate work experience demonstrated by a resume OR Minimum age of 17 AND successful completion of readiness assessment provided by the University.
