Health services assistance involves the worker in direct client contact under supervision.

15 units: 7 core; 8 elective

Core: Communicate and work in health or community services; Work with diverse people; Recognise healthy body systems; Comply with infection prevention and control policies and procedures; Participate in workplace health and safety; plus more. Electives: Handle and care for operating theatre equipment; Assist with preparation of clients for operative procedures; Provide intra-operative equipment and technical support; Assist with movement; Respond effectively to behaviours of concern; Transport individuals; Provide non-client contact support in an acute care environment; Assist with nursing care in an acute care environment; plus more.

Established in November 2006, Australasian Lawrence Aged Care College Pty Ltd (ALACC), (RTO# 21872) trading as ALACC Health College, Australia is a Registered Training Organisation. The College offers Nationally Recognised courses and non-award accredited courses for Return to Practice Australia wide. National qualifications of ALACC training is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding for current students. ALACC courses provides students with a pathway into the aged care, nursing, health, pathology, early child care, English EAL, quality auditing, work health and safety, community services management, disability, leadership and management, from TAFE to University courses. The College is a Vocational Education and Training (VET) institution based 15 min from CBD Melbourne (Preston). ALACC provides courses from Certificate, Diploma to Advanced Diploma levels. ALACC has several students enrolling in various courses of their choice. Many of the courses have rolling intakes for flexibility and learning at the student own pace.
